How To Prepare Your House for Showing

GENERAL
- Remove clutter
- Remove cobwebs from ceilings and corners
- Clean and polish door hardware and handles
- Clean wall switches, outlet covers, and doors
- Clean and tidy basement and attic storage
- Add plants and flowers throughout the house
HOUSE EXTERIOR
- Driveway and walkways free of debris/leaves
- Trees, shrubs, and lawn trimmed
- Wash front steps and porch
- Check front doorbell and bell light, replace light bulbs where missing
- Clean or replace welcome mat
- Repair and repaint fences and gates if necessary
- Wash windows, screens, and shutters
WHERE NECESSARY: LIVING, FAMILY, DINING ROOMS, BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS, & KITCHEN
- Repaint or touch up walls, ceiling and trim
- Repair or replace damaged molding
- Clean and wax hardwood and vinyl floors
- Shampoo carpets if necessary

- Check to see that drawers/doors open and close easily
- Clean out medicine cabinet
- Replace old toilet seats and replace shower curtains
- Clean out refrigerator, wash interior cabinets and appliances
- Check operation of all appliances
- Neatly display dishes in cabinets
- Clean clutter from counter tops
